Hotels and things you need to bring with you
If you've never been to a hotel before you may be
wondering what exactly you need to bring and what they'll have available for you
to make your stay a great one. Since hotels pride themselves in
making guests comfortable, you will find a lot of things waiting for you in the
room.
Starting in the bathroom, most hotels have a supply of
shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soaps, and lotions for you to use during your
stay. These will be replenished each day so go ahead and use them! You'll also
find a shower cap, tissues and, in some fancier establishments, an extra
toothbrush in case you have forgotten yours. Lose a button? Seam coming apart on
those favourite pants? Never mind, just find the sewing kit and you can fix
those problems before they become an embarrassment.
Most hotels nowadays
have an in room safe for you to store your valuables. You pick the code and away
you go. Not that you would bring your own safe, but it's a nice touch and will
give you peace of mind during your stay.
Now to the bedroom part of the room. If you are picky about your pillows, you
may want to bring your own, but otherwise you will likely find a nice selection
in the room. Hotels err
on the side of too many rather than not enough so you'll likely find three or
more pillows of various softness/firmness on each bed. Still no good? Call the
front desk and have them send up something else. They'll be happy to oblige.
Extra blankets are usually stored in the closet if you're cold and don't
forget the in room temperature controls to make your room the perfect
temperature all the time during the stay.
Hotels will also have hangers in the closet for your clothes, a drawer somewhere in the room and an
iron and ironing board to freshen up those wrinkles should you need. In short, a
hotel and the staff will
always have the necessities on hand, extras of everything and will be happy to
help with whatever you need.
